Position: Hardware Analyst, Teardowns
Location: El Segundo, CA
Scope and Responsibilities:
The teardown service performs a complete 'reverse cost engineering' service by completely dissecting well-known electronic devices and compiling an accurate and exhaustive bill of materials for the device. From this information our teardown team provides a detailed, in-depth cost and high-level technical analysis of the devices (such as cell phones, PDAs, network switches, PCs and other devices).
The hardware analyst position is crucial to this service and requires the hardware analyst to perform all of the first phase of the analysis: identification and logging of all assemblies, components, and sub-components.
In addition to proper identification and exhaustive logging, certain tests and measurements may have to be performed on the devices. The ideal candidate will grow to take on additional tasks and responsibilities within the teardown service, and may be trained and tasked with, based on ability, to perform any number of tasks within the service including: photography of devices, photo editing, photo composition, cost modeling, preparation of online presentations, database maintenance, etc.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a technical education with exposure to electronic devices, and should posess at least a preliminary knowledge of electronic components, and a basic ability to visually identify components types. While electronic knowledge is important in this role, motivation is even more critical to success. We are seeking candidates who are driven and have a strong desire to learn more about electronics, components and designs. This role gives the candidate exposure to leading edge designs in the electronic sector.
Requirements:

- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics
