Joseph “Joe” Abelson has more than 30 years of multi-national experience in technology marketing, supply chain management and industrial distribution. As senior director of displays research at IHS, he leads a team of analysts responsible for tracking the entire displays industry value chain – from new product development through end-market consumption.
Abelson specializes in research and consulting in the areas of demand creation, customer loyalty and supplier management. He has managed a variety of large-scale projects for leading semiconductor companies, systems manufacturers and investors. Abelson was also responsible for establishing IHS coverage of technology’s fastest growing markets: China and India.
Prior to joining iSuppli, Abelson was based in Singapore and Hong Kong where he served as vice president of Asia strategic marketing for Avnet, Inc. In this role, he launched a successful pan-Asia business unit that exceeded $100 million in annual revenues during its second year of operation. He also directed an unprecedented strategic alliance with China’s Ministry of Information Industry (MII).
