Prices Increase as Larger-Sized TVs Continue to Retain Value into April 2012

TV prices rose by 1% on average this month and by 11% since December 2011 to $1,248 as 2012 models continue to retain value in the U.S. TV market. By screen size, categories of less-than 20-inches, 40- to 49-inch, and 50-inch and larger sizes inches all increased by 3% month-over-month (MoM). Conversely, the 21- to 29-inch, and 30- to 39-inch size segments fell by 3% and 4% respectively over March 2012, as remaining 2011 inventory in those size groups effectively held prices at competitive levels...
