OVERVIEW

The Flat Information Displays (FID) Conference is recognized as the leading, global event series for the display industry. With annual events in Asia, Europe and North America – FID is the place where the leaders of the display industry gather to exchange and develop ideas about where and how to manage their business for the coming years.

The newest member of the FID family of display business conferences, FID Europe focuses on European-specific trends in display components and systems in addition to small and medium display technologies and applications.

In North America, FID 2006 was held in at the San Jose Marriott, November 8-10 and included access to The New Technology Showcase. The New Technology Showcase featured the latest display products as well as emerging areas, such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), flexible displays, solid-state light sources and new materials or manufacturing techniques for TFT-LCDs.

FID 2006 once again featured concurrent tracks. Each track delivered comprehensive coverage of a hot market area, including television, projection in addition to small/medium and large-screen displays. Special attention was paid to the consumer electronics devices and the question of how multimedia content is driving display technology will be explored. The tracks featured complete analyses of each supply chain, from components, to complete systems, to retail sales channels.
